if there was a song right now to describe the state of my being, rebirth, return and evolution, this is it.
thank you Tonolec for bringing it back, to bring it forward.

when I think of the music, it’s power, potential and simple/complex beauty– i think about how it is the one bridge builder for the modern and ancient worlds– i’ll touch more on this on a main post– but the sounds of Tonolec and Juana Molina- remind me of this void that I can see but can only be felt through something equally tangible and abstract as music like this.
i can make out some of this, but to know it’s true significance- i am at a lost. their beauty, their sound, sure comes across though and that is enough for a modern nomad like me.
some dub her as the south amerikan version of bjork but i think she can stand alone w/out comparison. i love her because she’s reaching octaves and tapping vibrations in me that i rarely get from pop music.
her sound doesn’t really fit in any boxes but if you want me to put her in one i’d name it the “AncientFuture” genre. heavy on the electronic but she’s got a folk thing goin on — so it’s grounded in the ancient tradition. plus she hums not only in spanish but she’s spittin some regional indigenous talk in their too.
malherido is my favorite from the son album! clever!
