so the story goes.. one of my best friend’s dad met Bill while working at Sears Roebuck buck in the 70s or 80s and rang him up! — and that’s the 600th degree of separation connection he has to me! — but who cares– to know a man is one thing– but to be able to influence and touch entire generations without even meeting them is another gift. thank you bill.

bill’s life is a testament to true expression, the simple things, the most simple and complex thing: LOVE.
i went to see Still Bill w/one of my guy friends last week who is very expressive but when it comes to being in that “sensitive moment”– i lose him somehow… and i’m particularly naming his gender because of the example that Bill is… in fact, Bill Withers is the type of man I would have liked to have been my father. he embodies what every woman (and man) wishes the males figures in their life were like– emotionally connected. Bill cries in the film several times— and for those of us who don’t see that in our lives- it was a trip for the psyche… healing. anyways, i could go on and on and on about this, WATCH IT! and listen…
