ahhhhh awwww ahhhh its like a cut out-stop motion-escher video!!! okay, she is another one of the womyn upholding the “anti-folk” movement but that’s besides the point .. shes one of the womyn transcending the genres and she’s just gooooood period. plus her videos are the best. and come on… who else can write such a beautiful song about one of the saddest biblical romances ever?!
feist, inside and out
i just found out from JENUINE! that feist was doing punk before she got into the sound she is now. what is it with starting off in the punk scene and going soft and sweet but still strong like this?! there’s so many artists out there who started off in a punk band– perhaps it gives you good training?! it does make sense though since most punk bands come from the independent-do-it-yourself place but then again… music always starts that way (in this sense, what i refer to as real music!)
when i first heard feist – of course i automatically associated her with Bjork– i called her the “More Down To Earth Bjork”! anyway, she holds her own and dropped the Leslie and is now one woman, one name Feist.
i love both her acoustic and album version of the bee gees… and why do i feature a cover instead of all the good songs she’s written?! because i could write at least 20 more entries on how great feist is… but i love the bee gees so its double love.
